  The Supreme Court has said there are conflicting letters from the Chicago State University (CSU) on President Bola Tinubu’s certificate.  Speaking at the  hearing of the appeal filed by PDP's Atiku Abubakar this morning, Justice John Okoro who is the Chairman of the 7-member panel mentioned that the court has two conflicting letters before it. Recall that on September 6, 2023, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had struck out the appeals of Atiku and Peter Obi of Labour Party. Both men headed for the apex court, with Atiku asking to file extra evidence against Tinubu on alleged forgery. Atiku had sought Tinubu’s academic record from Chicago State University so as to prove his allegation that the president submitted forged documents to INEC. However, by the time the documents were release, the 180 days statutory period within which an election petition should be filed and determined had elapsed. The release of President Bola Tinubu's academic records by Chicago State University has raised questions about his past. On Monday, the university released Tinubu's academic records, following requests by Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections. In a finding by a popular columnist and social commentator, Farooq Kperogi, there are various questions raised with the release of these documents. President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu  has reassured his administration will focus on providing adequate security for Nigerians in every part of the country. The president stated this while speaking at the graduation of Course 45 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State. The Conference Of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has reacted to the recent hike in pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol. Several reactions have trailed the increase in the pump prices of Petrol, known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), from 537 to 617 naira per Liter. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has further increased pump prices of Petrol across the country. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written to the House of Representatives seeking the sum of N500 billion for palliatives to cushion the effect of the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirits (PMS) popularly known as petrol. Tinubu in the letter also sought an amendment to the 2022 supplementary appropriation Act which will allow the Federal Government (FG) to source the money from the 2022 supplementary Appropriation Act of N819.5 billion. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, read the president's letter during plenary on Wednesday. "I write to request the approval of the House of Representatives for an amendment of the 2022 appropriation act in accordance with the law," Tinubu said. This new law will empower states, companies, and individuals to generate, transmit and distribute electricity in the country. The Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, has signed the 2023 Electricity Act which is a replacement for the Electricity and Power Sector Reform Act of 2005 into a law. The newly enacted law will de-monopolise Nigerian electricity generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity at the national level. This new law will empower states, companies, and individuals to generate, transmit and distribute electricity in the country. Recall that the Electricity Act 2023 was initially passed by lawmakers in July 2022 to allow the states to issue licences to private investors who can operate mini-grids and power plants within the state. But the Act precludes interstate and transnational electricity distribution.
