  The Supreme Court has said there are conflicting letters from the Chicago State University (CSU) on President Bola Tinubu’s certificate.  Speaking at the  hearing of the appeal filed by PDP's Atiku Abubakar this morning, Justice John Okoro who is the Chairman of the 7-member panel mentioned that the court has two conflicting letters before it. Recall that on September 6, 2023, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had struck out the appeals of Atiku and Peter Obi of Labour Party. Both men headed for the apex court, with Atiku asking to file extra evidence against Tinubu on alleged forgery. Atiku had sought Tinubu’s academic record from Chicago State University so as to prove his allegation that the president submitted forged documents to INEC. The release of President Bola Tinubu's academic records by Chicago State University has raised questions about his past. On Monday, the university released Tinubu's academic records, following requests by Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections. In a finding by a popular columnist and social commentator, Farooq Kperogi, there are various questions raised with the release of these documents. In a commentary on Tuesday, Kperogi said that the certificate that Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is inconsistent with the certificates that CSU issued in 1979 and, subsequently, indicating that Tinubu forged his.
