 NIGERIA AIR FORCE TAKES OVER MKO ABIOLA AIRPORT IN OSUN, SET TO TURN THE LOCATION TO AVIATION CITY TO. The Nigerian Air Force on Wednesday disclosed plans to establish an aviation city in Osun State while it formally took possession of the MKO Abiola Airport, Ido-Osun, Osun State. Gboyega Oyetola and Air marshal Amao.     Speaking at the handover ceremony in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, who was represented by Air Vice Marshal, M. Onilede, recalled that NAF had earlier relocated its Research and Development Centre from Kaduna to Osogbo. According to him, the aviation city will be established in addition to the existing NAF Institute of Safety and Special Operation at Ipetu-Ijesa, Osun State. This metal mask was used during slavery for 3 main reasons. 1) To prevent the slaves from eating fruits such as apples, pineapples, oranges, cashews, bananas, plantains and sugarcanes etc while harvesting them, yet they were made to work consistently in all the plantation farms. 2) To stop the slaves from chanting our African spiritual songs. Not only that those our spiritual and war songs affected the slave masters, it also motivated some slaves to rebel and fight back not minding losing their lives. 3) To stop slaves form teaching our African local dialects (languages) to their children...whereby destroyed our dialects, and forced them to learn foreign languages. Last but not the least, to starve slaves as a punishment in the slave camps. The mask prevented them from eating or drinking.
