Guinness World Records has clarified why they are yet to confirm Nigeria's Hilda Baci's new record for the longest cooking time by an individual. Recall that the 27-year-old from Akwa Ibom state broke the record on Monday morning, May 15, after surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Lata Tondon of India in 2019. At the time of filing this report, Hilda Baci has already cooked for over 90 hours. Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci on Monday night set a brand new Guinness World Record of 100 hours for the longest cooking time by an individual as she ended her cooking marathon. Hilda Baci had early Monday morning broken the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual cook. By 08:32am on Monday, Hilda Baci had cooked for 88 hours and 32 minutes to equal the record which was previously set by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon. Tondon on her own part had achieved the feat after cooking for 87 hours, 45 minutes and 00 secs back in the year 2019. Hilda carried on despite having broken the record as she stated that she planned to cook for 96 hours, thereby setting a new world record as the first human on earth to spend such an amount of time cooking.
