FG - Tinubu Will Be Sworn In As President Despite Court Cases.

Nigeria’s ‘president-elect’, Bola Tinubu, will be sworn in on May 29 despite the court cases challenging his victory, the information and culture minister, Lai Mohammed has said.

Mohammed, however, noted that opposition political parties have the right to challenge the outcome of the presidential election in court.

The Labour Party candidate and former Anambra governor, Mr Peter Obi polled 6,101,533 votes to come third.

argued that the results do not reflect the wish of the majority of Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the PDP, Labour Party and their candidates have filed suits to challenge Tinubu’s victory.

Addressing a gathering during a visit to the United Kingdom, the minister said Tinubu would be sworn in on May 29, 2023, in line with the constitution.

Mohammed claimed supporters of the defeated Labour presidential candidate Peter Obi were.

Federal Government May Raise Minimum Wage to N200,000, to Take Decision Soon.

There are strong indications that the federal government is favourably disposed to raising the minimum wage to as high as N200k per month as demanded by the organised labour in the country. However, state governors are urging for caution while Anambra State governor Charles Soludo has been asked to chair a Technical Working Group (TWG) to resolve the issues and its various dimensions. LEADERSHIP gathered that the matter was discussed at the last month's National Economic Council (NEC) meeting and it was there that the Salaries, Incomes & Wages Commission made a presentation on how the federal government can meet up with the demand of N200,000 per month minimum wage. Tricycle Driver Strung Up For Killing Passenger Over #50 In Bayelsa.

A keke driver has been lynched to death shortly after he stabbed a young man named Douglas Joseph to death over N50. According to reports the incident happened in Yenizue-Epie community of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. The passenger who was stabbed by the Keke driver, Douglas Joseph, 30, was a native of the community and a father of three. According to an eyewitness, the keke driver charged the passenger a fare of N150 which was supposed to be N100. The passenger, Douglas did not agree to pay the fare and it ended in a fight. "He said he was coming from Opolo community to Kpansia which was supposed to be N100, but the Keke rider insisted on collecting N150. "As we were separating them, we saw the Keke rider bring out a dagger. We thought it was just to scare the youth. But he stabbed him on his lap and the young man fell to the ground.
