In an early-morning operation Friday, Israeli special forces from Shayetet 13 successfully conducted an amphibious raid in Batroun, northern Lebanon, capturing a high-ranking Hezbollah operative, according to Israeli military officials. The elite unit transported the suspect back to Israeli territory, where he is now under investigation by Unit 504, an Israeli intelligence division.


This operation is the latest in Israel’s ongoing efforts to counter Hezbollah activity, with the IDF stating that similar actions will be taken as needed to ensure the safety of Israel and its citizens. Lebanese authorities are investigating, while Hezbollah has condemned the raid as “Zionist aggression.” This incident follows Hezbollah’s reported attack on an Israeli naval base last month.

Federal Government May Raise Minimum Wage to N200,000, to Take Decision Soon.

There are strong indications that the federal government is favourably disposed to raising the minimum wage to as high as N200k per month as demanded by the organised labour in the country. However, state governors are urging for caution while Anambra State governor Charles Soludo has been asked to chair a Technical Working Group (TWG) to resolve the issues and its various dimensions. A keke driver has been lynched to death shortly after he stabbed a young man named Douglas Joseph to death over N50. According to reports the incident happened in Yenizue-Epie community of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. The passenger who was stabbed by the Keke driver, Douglas Joseph, 30, was a native of the community and a father of three.
