 🇮🇱 Israel Captures Senior Hezbollah Operative in Daring Amphibious Raid

In an early-morning operation Friday, Israeli special forces from Shayetet 13 successfully conducted an amphibious raid in Batroun, northern Lebanon, capturing a high-ranking Hezbollah operative, according to Israeli military officials. The elite unit transported the suspect back to Israeli territory, where he is now under investigation by Unit 504, an Israeli intelligence division.


This operation is the latest in Israel’s ongoing efforts to counter Hezbollah activity, with the IDF stating that similar actions will be taken as needed to ensure the safety of Israel and its citizens. Lebanese authorities are investigating, while Hezbollah has condemned the raid as “Zionist aggression.” This incident follows Hezbollah’s reported attack on an Israeli naval base last month.

BREAKING: Court jails Akwa Ibom YPP gov candidate 42 years for corruption.

Mr. Albert. The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Bassey Albert, has been sentenced to 42 years in prison for corruption. A Federal High Court in Uyo, on Thursday, convicted and sentenced Mr Albert who was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He has been taken to Ikot Ekpene prisons, Akwa Ibom State , to serve his prison term. Mr Albert, a serving senator representing Akwa Ibom North East District, was accused of receiving bribes of 12 cars worth N254 million from an oil marketer, Olajidee Omokore, during his (Albert’s) tenure (2010 – 2014) as commissioner for finance in Akwa Ibom State. The convicted senator was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, the ruling party in the state, before he defected months ago to the YPP, where he secured the party’s ticket for the 2023 governorship election. Court Reinstated Ademola Adeleke as Governor of Osun State.

The appellate court sitting in Abuja has upheld Mr Ademola Adeleke Nurudeen as the governor of Osun State. Recall that the Osun State tribunal had sacked Adeleke as Governor months after his victory citing such issues as over-voting in 749 polling units in the 10 LG areas of the state. A three-member panel of justices decided in Adeleke's appeal on Friday, concluding that the election tribunal fell short in finding that Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress had established their claim of over voting. The court of appeal had faulted the tribunal for making a decision which was based on oral witness of alleged over voting as what is usually considered are the information on the BVAs and voter registration. In addition to overturning the tribunal's decision, the court gave the All Progressive Congress, APC, and its candidate Gboyega Oyetola N500, 000 in costs in its lead judgment, which was delivered by Justice Mohammed Lawal.
