This afternoon, Distinguished Senator Olubiyi Ajagunnla Fadeyi, the senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Ọba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Ilufemiloye, Akinyooye III, the Olufon of Ifon-Osun, Orolu Kingdom, Osun State, to identify with the victims of the recent communal clash, discuss community development and extend philanthropic gesture to the victims of the communal clash by donating bags of rice to the victims.

The Distinguished Senator arrived at the ancient palace of Olufon accompanied by high profile political office holders and members of his party, People's Democratic Party (PDP). The visit was prompted by the recent communal clash between Ifon and Ilobu towns, communities within his senatorial district. The senator's visit aimed to show solidarity with the victims and discuss ways to restore peace and foster development.

Upon arrival, members of the PDP in Orolu Local Government, including political officeholders, party leaders and members came out en masse to receive the senator, demonstrating their support and appreciation. High Chiefs, Members of IPU Home Branch, The Olufon Royal Family were also on seat to receive the senator. High Chief Babatunde Oyetunji, the Eesa of Ifon-Osun, appreciated the senator's previous efforts in the community and demanded more support for social amenities and development projects, especially on education, road projects, electricity and welfarism of the community members.

During the meeting, Senator Ajagunnla briefly mentioned the social amenities he has facilitated in the community, including road grading, provision of borehole water, facilitation of due promotion for members of the community in public service and so on. He then promised to do more. Various political officeholders in the town attested to the senator's efforts and contributions to the development of the community while they demanded for more.

In his royal remarks, His Royal Majesty, Ọba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Ilufemiloye, Akinyooye III, expressed gratitude to the Senator for his visit and support. He emphasized the need for more social amenities, especially in the areas of education and infrastructure, to improve the standard of living in the community.

The traditional ruler assured the senator and the government of Osun State of the community's support and promised to work towards sustainable peace. He highlighted the importance of peace for development and pledged to maintain harmony among the residents.

The Senator's visit was a significant gesture of solidarity and support. The visit underscored the senator's commitment to community development and peacebuilding. The senator's engagement with the community and the traditional ruler's responses reflect a shared commitment to fostering sustainable development and peace in the senatorial district.

BREAKING: Court jails Akwa Ibom YPP gov candidate 42 years for corruption.

Mr. Albert. The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Bassey Albert, has been sentenced to 42 years in prison for corruption. A Federal High Court in Uyo, on Thursday, convicted and sentenced Mr Albert who was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He has been taken to Ikot Ekpene prisons, Akwa Ibom State , to serve his prison term. Mr Albert, a serving senator representing Akwa Ibom North East District, was accused of receiving bribes of 12 cars worth N254 million from an oil marketer, Olajidee Omokore, during his (Albert’s) tenure (2010 – 2014) as commissioner for finance in Akwa Ibom State.
