It is with deep sorrow that we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, the good people of Ibadan and Oyo state government on the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadan, His Imperial Majesty, Ọba Lekan Balogun. His death is a profound loss to the great city of Ibadan and Yoruba region at large, as he was a pillar of wisdom, authority, and progress. His reign was marked by remarkable achievements and a steadfast commitment to the betterment of his people.


Ọba Lekan Balogun was not only a revered traditional ruler but also a notable public servant, successful businessman, and reputable politician. His multifaceted contributions to society exemplified his dedication to serving others and advancing the welfare of his community. His leadership transcended traditional boundaries, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many.


Despite his numerous roles and responsibilities, Ọba Lekan Balogun remained a devoted family man, demonstrating that greatness can coexist with humility and compassion. His legacy of integrity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family serves as an inspiration to us all. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to strive for excellence and unity.

The father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad has spoken about the death of his son. In a video interview that went viral on Saturday, Joseph Aloba narrated, "I think the injection led to his death. Adekunle Gold blasts Buhari, says Nigerians wasted 8 years.

Nigerian afrobeat singer and songwriter, Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has blamed President Muhammadu Buhari's administration for the hardship in the country. This is coming a few days after Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade lamented over the suffering of Nigerians. However, the 'It is what it is' crooner said the Buhari-led administration had done nothing other than waste eight years of Nigerians' lives. In a tweet, Adekunle Gold said the country has been in regression since the Buhari administration took over in 2015. "This current administration wasted 8 years of our lives. 8 years, we regressed as a nation,"  he wrote. In 2022, Adekunkle Gold had disclosed to his fans that he was born with sickle cell disease, adding that at the age of 20, he begged God to take his life due to the unbearable crisis.

Court Reinstated Ademola Adeleke as Governor of Osun State.

The appellate court sitting in Abuja has upheld Mr Ademola Adeleke Nurudeen as the governor of Osun State. Recall that the Osun State tribunal had sacked Adeleke as Governor months after his victory citing such issues as over-voting in 749 polling units in the 10 LG areas of the state. A three-member panel of justices decided in Adeleke's appeal on Friday, concluding that the election tribunal fell short in finding that Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress had established their claim of over voting. The court of appeal had faulted the tribunal for making a decision which was based on oral witness of alleged over voting as what is usually considered are the information on the BVAs and voter registration. In addition to overturning the tribunal's decision, the court gave the All Progressive Congress, APC, and its candidate Gboyega Oyetola N500, 000 in costs in its lead judgment, which was delivered by Justice Mohammed Lawal.
