In a captivating display of unity and harmony, the Olufon of Ifon-Osun, Orolu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Ọba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Ilufemiloye, Akinyooye III orchestrated a memorable iftar (breaking the Ramadan fast) in collaboration with NASFAT Orolu branch which also had members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in attendance.
Despite the unfavorable atmosphere that was marked with heavy and windy downpour, the guest speaker, Alh. Mahmud Kola Adesina, SAN, known for his oratory prowess, still managed to deliver a thought-provoking lecture that seamlessly intertwined teachings from the Qur'an, hadith, songs of Islamic scholars with references from the Holy Bible. His lecture was not only enlightening but also a poignant reminder of the shared values and beliefs that unite us all.
In a moment of heartfelt sincerity, the Learned Silk acknowledged the king as the beacon of hope and progress in the town. He gave accolades to the king for his unprecedented compassion and generosity in hosting the iftar for three days running, where attendees were treated to a variety of sumptuous meals, fruits and refreshments, knowing how much such generous gesture could have cost. The scholar consequently urged the townspeople to rally behind the king and support his vision for the town's advancement as he pledged his own support for the monarch.
The iftar served as a beautiful example of unity in diversity, showcasing the town's ability to come together in celebration of their shared humanity. It was a testament to the king's inclusive leadership and his commitment to creating a harmonious environment where all residents can thrive. The speaker acknowledged these outstanding qualities and performance of the king which endeared him to the speaker who in turn urged all contestants and litigants in the race to the stool to sheath the sword and bury the hatchet by withdrawing all court cases and supporting the new king who had adequately demonstrated his love for, and commitment to the peace, unity and progress of the Kingdom.
In his remarks, His Royal Majesty appreciated the guest speaker for putting his town first as Kabiyesi was aware of his other important commitments away from the town. He showered the legal luminary with royal blessings, wishing him greater heights in all his future endeavours. Kabiyesi's appreciation also went to the NASFAT Orolu branch, the Christian Association of Nigeria, and every other attendees of the memorable event. The programme ended with the presentation of a beautiful and quality artwork as a gift for Kabiyesi by the Learned Silk.
