Kidnapped wife of slain Kwara Monarch and her Adopted daughter regain Freedom

Olori Iyabo Aremu, the abducted wife of the slain Olukoro of Koro Ekiti in Kwara State, General Segun Aremu-Cole (retd) and two others have regained their freedom.


Olori, her adopted daughter, Feranmi and one other victim were released on Monday night, February 5, 2024 and arrived Koro town around 10:45pm.


"The news just received from home confirms that Olori and the girl have been released and have returned to Koro about 30 minutes ago," the Asiwaju of Koro, Chief Samuel Ayobola, told newsmen.


Also, the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) chairman of the council, Chief Kayode Kehinde Bayode, who also confirmed the development to the Daily Trust around past 12:00 am on Tuesday said the police will give further details


The monarch was killed by the kidnappers on February 1, 2024.

The gunmen were said to have stormed the palace at about 9 pm and after killing the monarch, they whisking away his wife, her adopted daughter and one other.

The abductors demanded a N100 million ransom, which was later reduced to N40 million.

Federal Government May Raise Minimum Wage to N200,000, to Take Decision Soon.

There are strong indications that the federal government is favourably disposed to raising the minimum wage to as high as N200k per month as demanded by the organised labour in the country. However, state governors are urging for caution while Anambra State governor Charles Soludo has been asked to chair a Technical Working Group (TWG) to resolve the issues and its various dimensions. Tricycle Driver Strung Up For Killing Passenger Over #50 In Bayelsa.

A keke driver has been lynched to death shortly after he stabbed a young man named Douglas Joseph to death over N50. According to reports the incident happened in Yenizue-Epie community of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. The passenger who was stabbed by the Keke driver, Douglas Joseph, 30, was a native of the community and a father of three.
