Actor Murphy Afolabi dies at 49

The entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden demise of actor Murphy Afolabi today May 14.

According to reports from his associates Tunde Ola-Yusuf, Afolabi who celebrated his 49th birthday on May 5, slipped on tiles and hit his head on a hard surface.

The popular Yoruba actor posted on his Instagram page just 21 hours ago.

Federal Government May Raise Minimum Wage to N200,000, to Take Decision Soon.

There are strong indications that the federal government is favourably disposed to raising the minimum wage to as high as N200k per month as demanded by the organised labour in the country. However, state governors are urging for caution while Anambra State governor Charles Soludo has been asked to chair a Technical Working Group (TWG) to resolve the issues and its various dimensions. A schizophrenic man chopped off his p3nis with a kitchen knife and then flushed it down the toilet. FCT, Abuja - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said 12 million families will get N8,000 over a period of six months to lessen the hardships faced by Nigerians as a result of subsidy removal. In a letter to the house of representatives read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas during plenary on Thursday, July 13, Tinubu said it was support to enable poor and vulnerable Nigerians to cope with the cost of meeting basic needs. The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has ordered the Committee of the Chiefs of Defence Staff to immediately activate its standby force with all its elements. Several reactions have trailed the increase in the pump prices of Petrol, known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), from 537 to 617 naira per Liter. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has further increased pump prices of Petrol across the country. NNPC filling stations in Abuja witnessed brief queues, particularly the one located along Murtala Mohammed Express road in Kado remained shut for a few hours as the Petrol attendants adjusted their fuel pumps to reflect the new price of 617 naira.
