Thomas Fuller (The African History Man)

 Thomas Fuller, an African sold into slavery in 1724 at the age of 14, was sometimes known as the “Virginia Calculator” for his extraordinary ability to solve complex math problems in his head. He was asked how many seconds there were in a year and a half, he answered in about two minutes, 47,304,000. Again he was asked how many seconds a man has lived who is 70 years, 17 days and 12 hours old, he answered in a minute and a half 2,210,500,800. 


One of the men was working out the problems on paper, and informed Fuller that he was wrong, because the answer was much smaller. Fuller hastily replied, "'Top, massa, you forget de leap year." When the leap year was added in, the sums matched.

1. We all must have passed through one  primary or secondary schools at a time in life. The assertion may not be true in other geopolitical zones, but it is very true in the South Western Nigeria. In the Southwest, a child must attain a level of education in a school, even if he/she will end up learning trade or skills; no matter how OLODO the child is. Although those we called OLODOs then are the leaders of the pack with cash, distribution of life is beyond mortal intelligent.  2. BREAKING: Court jails Akwa Ibom YPP gov candidate 42 years for corruption.

Mr. Albert. The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Bassey Albert, has been sentenced to 42 years in prison for corruption. A Federal High Court in Uyo, on Thursday, convicted and sentenced Mr Albert who was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He has been taken to Ikot Ekpene prisons, Akwa Ibom State , to serve his prison term. Mr Albert, a serving senator representing Akwa Ibom North East District, was accused of receiving bribes of 12 cars worth N254 million from an oil marketer, Olajidee Omokore, during his (Albert’s) tenure (2010 – 2014) as commissioner for finance in Akwa Ibom State. The convicted senator was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, the ruling party in the state, before he defected months ago to the YPP, where he secured the party’s ticket for the 2023 governorship election.
