ASUU STRIKE: Asuu React To Court of Appeal Judgement To Resume Immediately After Eight-Month-Old of Strike.


The ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, told Daily Post that the union was yet to officially receive the Appeal Court ruling.

The striking university lecturers’ union, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has reacted to the ruling of the Court of Appeal ordering them to resume work immediately after its eight-month-old strike.

SaharaReporters reported earlier that the three-man panel of appellate court headed by Justice Hamma Barka, on Friday ordered the striking lecturers to obey the ruling of the National Industrial Court and return to classroom effective from October 7 (today).

Reacting to the Appeal Court's ruling, ASUU said that it would review the judgment before it will decide on the next line of action.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that the Nigerian government budgeted N470billion for university’s Revitalisation in the 2023 budget.

This was disclosed by President Muhammadu Buhari while presenting the budget before the National Assembly on Friday.

One of the objectives of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which has been on strike since February, is funding to revitalise public universities.
